JD Martin
Founder
(1943-2022)
The founding father of Arbor Engineering. JD Martin started the company in 1976 and built it into one of the Southeast’s most respected civil engineering and architectural design firms. His vision continues to define our mission and guide our work.
Up until his death, JD remained actively involved in the business serving as an advisor and mentor to Arbor’s associates and clients while still finding time for business development. Forever humble, he was always approachable and eager to share his love for the business of design and engineering.
JD thought of Arbor as creators of those unique “places” – where nature’s living spirit draws people in and brings them together. He took great pride in Arbor’s reputation for taking on seemingly impossible projects – the work that others believe could not be done.
